A grassroots mobilization to produce zero-mile energy: dioceses and parishes are ready to take the field to create renewable energy communities and lead the green transition. The CERs are an “ancient” and innovative tool at the same time: they provide for the “on-site” production and consumption of clean energy, mainly from photovoltaics. A concrete example of that integral ecology theorized by Pope Francis in the encyclical Laudato si’.
